About the program

Laboratories of the Future is the largest educational and technological programme aimed at primary schools and general art schools. Its aim is to build creative and technical competences among pupils. Within the framework of the programme, schools will be given financial support from the government to purchase technical equipment necessary for the development of practical skills among children and young people.

Creative thinking and the use of tools are among the basic skills that determine the development of civilization, the economy and society. Increased innovation and technological developments have made mathematical, science, technology and engineering skills more important today than ever before. The Future Labs is a further step towards strengthening and making more interesting the existing process of students gaining knowledge and practical skills in these fields.

Within the framework of the Future Labs, schools have received financial support to purchase technical equipment needed to shape and develop manual and technical skills, independent and critical thinking skills, mathematical thinking skills and skills in science, technology and engineering, the use of information and communication technology, as well as teamwork, good organisation and tidiness at the workplace and coping with everyday life. The full range of equipment that can be purchased with the funds raised is included in the Equipment Catalogue. The Equipment Catalogue includes both basic equipment (which all primary schools in this programme have as of 30 June 2022) and optional equipment (chosen freely by schools).

The Future Labs are modern equipment that helps develop pupils' competences and talents, makes school activities more interesting every day and allows pupils to develop their interests not only in technology lessons and other compulsory educational activities, but also in extra-curricular activities, interest circles and other forms of skill development.
