Climate-friendly Cities

The aim of the initiative is to improve the quality of life of residents and to support cities in transformation into climate-friendly and neutral cities.

The „Climate-friendly cities” initiative was launched in March 2020. One aspect of the project was a series of city workshops to which we invited municipal authorities, think tanks, social and civic organizations, experts, business representatives, scientists, architects and town planners to participate. The workshops were held in thematic mode: parks, green infrastructure and biodiversity, energy and clean air, sustainable and low-emission transport, green and blue infrastructure and retention in cities, and spatial planning.

The workshop will result in a proposal of measures in the field of greening urban policy, including a package of legislative and non-legislative measures.

In addition, as a part of „Climate friendly cities”, we have launched support tools for cities, to develop green and blue infrastructure, financed by the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management and funds for the implementation of municipal investments under the Infrastructure and Environment Operational Program 2014-2020.

Starting this year, the project will be extended with additional components.
