Poland has prepared the preliminary version of an update of the KPEiK, which was submitted to the European Commission on 1 March 2024. Soon wide consultations on the draft will begin.

08.01.2024Government's first step to protect precious forestsThe Ministry of Climate and Environment is limiting the logging foreseen for 2024 in Poland's most important forests. The protection of valuable primaeval forests, the preservation of woods used by agglomerations of many thousands of people, spa forests and the scarcity of forestry districts are the main reasons for the reduction in logging. Minister Paulina Hennig-Kloska announced the details of the decision at a press conference held on 8 January 2024 in Warsaw.
