On December 13, 2021 was the 40th anniversary of the introduction of martial law in Poland.
In 1981, the communist government of the People's Republic of Poland introduced martial law, which meant severe political repression aimed at suppressing political opposition. The state of emergency, declared contrary to the constitution, resulted in the internment of over 10,000 anti-communist opposition activists and the surveillance and intimidation of thousands of others. At least several dozen people lost their lives ...
On the occasion of the anniversary, the Institute of National Remembrance released an animated film devoted to this period in the history of Poland.
