EU statement on the International Day of Solidarity with Belarus

On November 8, during the 1480th session of the Committee of Delegates of Ministers of the Council of Europe, the EU delegation delivered a speech on the International Day of Solidarity with Belarus, which falls on November 12.

The text of the joint statement was drafted on the initiative of Poland as the chef de file of Belarusian issues at the EU coordination forum. AL, IC, LI, MD, MC, MT, MK, ME, NO, SM, UA also joined the statement.

The speech of Ales Bielacki's wife, Natalia Pinchuk, during the World Forum for Democracy held at the Council of Europe, as well as recent press reports on the tightening of the Nobel Prize winner's prison regime contributed to emphasizing the relevance of the EU statement.
