On December 8th, during the meeting of the Committee of Ministers' Delegates in the Council of Europe, the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Poland to the Council of Europe, Jerzy Baurski, delivered a speech on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Poland's membership in this organization.

Ambassador Jerzy Baurski

The ambassador referred to the words of Minister of Foreign Affairs Krzysztof Skubiszewski, who in 1991 spoke about the fact that the Council of Europe personifies contemporary Europe. He added that "all the successes of our democratic transformation were supported and encouraged by the heart of European democracy that beats in Strasbourg" concluded the Ambassador.

Alluding to the recently completed 18th edition of the XVIII International Chopin Piano Competition, the round anniversary was an opportunity to recall that no one expressed the soul of our nation better than Fryderyk Chopin. On this occasion, the Ambassador presented his counterparts with a special CD edition containing the performed works of the Polish composer.
