Conference The European way of growth: A growth policy for a secure, resilient and globally competitive European Union is one of the most important events in Poland in 2025.
The conference discusses the effects to date and future challenges of cohesion policy, including its impact on the security and socio-economic transformation of the European Union.
During 2-day conference following topics will be discussed:
- effects of Cohesion Policy to date, including in specific sectors such as mobility, climate neutrality, social, economic and digital transition, and the challenges ahead;
- the Cohesion Policy is an effective tool for strengthening Europe's security;
- territorial approach in development policies in the context of future challenges and global trends, including territorial dimension of cohesion policy;
- implementation system of Cohesion Policy;
- non-tangible benefits of Cohesion Policy.
We want to give a strong message on the key role of the Cohesion Policy in the development of the European Union countries. We will show that cohesion policy works, brings tangible positive results and has effective implementation system. We hope that conclusions and recommendation developed during the conference will be taken into consideration by the European Commission while preparing new draft regulations for the next perspective of the cohesion policy.
Key messages of the Conference:
- Cohesion Policy is the main tool for ensuring socio-economic cohesion in the EU and contributes to increasing resilience. It is also the driving force of European integration and has a positive impact on the development of democracy and the implementation of European values in the social sphere.
- Cohesion Policy pursues European goals and also has a number of positive, unintended effects.
- Cohesion Policy coexists with centrally managing instruments, creating synergy effects.
- An excessive number of new initiatives at European level limit the impact of Cohesion Policy, leading to its fragmentation.
- Cohesion Policy is effective because it is place-based.
- The Cohesion Policy is an effective tool for strengthening Europe's security.
- Proven mechanisms for implementing Cohesion Policy are effective, but require modifications.
The Agenda
1st Day will be dedicated to effects of Cohesion Policy to date and the challenges ahead.
