The purpose of the visit was to talk with Álvaro Mendonça e Moura, Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Portugal and José de Freitas Ferraz, Director of the Diplomatic Institute, about the functioning and diplomatic training of the Portuguese foreign service.

"We are deeply concerned by the decision of the Israeli Higher Planning Council to advance plans for the construction of more than 4.000 housing units in the West Bank. We urge the Israeli authorities to reverse this decision.

On 13 May, Secretary of State Piotr Wawrzyk met with the representative of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Poland Marin Din Kajdomcaj.

“I have spoken with Canadian partners about boosting aid for Poland and Ukraine by way of closer cooperation, both humanitarian and military, on the North Atlantic Alliance’s eastern flank. “We are aware that food security has become one of the most urgent problems in international politics in recent years,” Poland’s chief diplomat said in a media briefing he gave together with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Henryk Kowalczyk.

The 33rd session of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) for Europe almost unanimously adopted a decision condemning Russia's aggression against Ukraine. In the adopted document member states expressed their concern about the impact of Russian aggression on world food security, as well as the rising prices of food, fertilizers and energy.

On 10 May, Secretary of State at the Polish MFA Szymon Szynkowski vel Sęk visited Budapest to attend working consultations on the response to the Russian aggression against Ukraine.

The 33rd session of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations’ Regional Conference for Europe (ERC33) will be held on 10 - 13 May in Łódź, during which the issues of ensuring food security and the transformation of agrifood systems will be discussed. The event will be attended by representatives of agriculture ministries from 50 countries in Europe and Central Asia.
