Phone call between heads of Polish and Japanese diplomacies

Bilateral and security issues, Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, and Japan’s support for Ukraine were high on the agenda of consultations held by Foreign Ministers of Poland and Japan, Radosław Sikorski and Takeshi Iwaya.

During a phone conversation on 28 November 2024, Minister Radosław Sikorski congratulated his Japanese counterpart on his appointment to office. In their first direct conversation, the ministers discussed prospects for developing bilateral relations and plans for high-level visits in the months to come. 

With regard to Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, Minister Radosław Sikorski underlined the need to continue international support for the latter country. He also appreciated Japan’s existing assistance for that Ukraine. The ministers also elaborated on the security situation in Europe and Asia.
