On 22 October, Deputy Minister Władysław Teofil Bartoszewski met with his Kazakh counterpart, Roman Vasilenko, for talks on current bilateral relations.
The consultations focused on the prospects for developing economic cooperation and on current global challenges. The diplomats underscored the two countries’ interest in intensifying mutual relations, as also expressed during a meeting between the foreign ministers of Poland and Kazakhstan on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York this September.
Deputy Ministers Bartoszewski and Vasilenko expressed the hope that economic cooperation, especially in key areas such as agriculture, energy, mining and pharmaceuticals, will strengthen in the years to come, and that the good cooperation on preventing the circumvention of sanctions will continue. They also discussed major topics concerning regional problems, both in Central Europe and Central Asia.
Both sides noted Kazakhstan’s positive cooperation with the European Union, including in the context of Poland’s upcoming presidency of the EU Council in the first half of 2025.
