The talks covered cooperation as part of the Community of Democracies (CoD), including celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Warsaw Declaration.  Panama and Poland currently sit on the CoD Executive Committee, which held a meeting in Warsaw on 3 October with the participation of the Panamanian deputy foreign minister as a guest of honour.

Also discussed was advancing democracy worldwide, with the two sides stressing the key importance of collaboration between like-minded countries in the face of today’s global challenges.

The interlocutors expressed interest in fostering economic cooperation. While in Poland, the Panamanian delegation also met with representatives of the Polish Chamber of Commerce.

Deputy Minister Carlos Guevara Mann outlined the preparations for events marking 200 years of the Panama Congress of 1826. To commemorate this event, Panama will be hosting the Summit of the Organization of American States in 2026. The celebrations will also be a good opportunity to prepare joint history and culture projects, including on Polish heroes who took part in the region’s struggle for independence.
