"Polish 101" Promotional Campaign
10.03.2024
In the first quarter of 2024, the Polish Embassy in London carried out a promotional campaign on social media, focusing on the benefits of the Polish language in the UK and the opportunities to learn Polish at different stages of life.
The campaign lasted six weeks and consisted of 36 posts on the Embassy's social media, presented in three formats: infographics, videos and short clips.
The infographics were used to share basic vocabulary and simple phrases that the followers on social media could easily use in everyday life; each post also included a phonetic transcription of suggested expressions. The videos recorded for the campaign featured professionals from different fields and the impact of the Polish language on their career development. Additionally, longer videos featuring interviews with translators from Polish to English, Anna Zaranko, Antonia Lloyd-Jones, and Konrad Zielinski, were shared with the followers on both Facebook and X. The shorter clips, consisting of excerpts from the mentioned films, showed the critical role of the Polish language in interpersonal relations, the working environment and personal development in an accessible way.
The campaign was very popular among the online community on social media, amassing almost 400,000 views and 3,400 interactions. The campaign's opening video received the best media response, with over 320,000 views on Facebook.
Followers on Embassy's Facebook were particularly engaged in commenting on the posts, exchanging tips and personal experiences of learning Polish.
The Embassy actively promotes the Polish language in the UK, working with the British government, local partners, and the Polish community. One of the Embassy's flagship projects is the "Polish After-School Clubs" - classes promoting the beauty of the Polish language and the richness of Polish culture and history.
