On September 2nd at the University of New South Wales in Sydney there was a ceremony of the New South Wales Minister of Education Awards for outstanding academic achievements for students attending language schools operating under the Community Language Schools Program. During the awards ceremony, the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Sydney was represented by Vice-Consul Katarzyna Fałkowska.

Each language school could nominate students in two age categories, who were then assessed in terms of their language proficiency, achievements, engagement, and participation in language and cultural activities, by the committee  of language experts and members of the Community Languages Schools Program.

In this year’s edition, three students attending Polish classes at the Saturday Polish language schools received the awards. Michelle Zylka from the Polish Saturday School Ashfield was rewarded the Senior Minister’s Award, while Sofia Louey from the Polish Saturday School Randwick and Thomas Wroblewski from the Polish Saturday School North Shore received the Junior Highly Commended Awards.

We would like to extend our sincere congratulations to the awarded students.
