The Australian Government provides free access to COVID-19 vaccines to all Australian residents, including all holders of the same type of visa. This includes people holding temporary visas, temporary protection visas, bridging visas, refugees, asylum seekers, and temporary protection visa holders. The Government will also provide free COVID-19 vaccine to unlawful non-citizens in Australia, including those in detention facilities.

If you do not have a Medicare card, you should apply for an Individual Healthcare Identifier (IHI), which enables creation of a personalised immunisation summary in Australia’s digital health record system ‘My Health Record’.
