200th birth anniversary of Cyprian Kamil Norwid

On October 15, 2021, the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Ottawa in cooperation with the Slavic Research Group at the University of Ottawa organised a multidisciplinary celebration "Cyprian Kamil Norwid - A Polish Poet of Today" on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of his birth.
We were pleased to:
- listen to the lecture “Cyprian Kamil Norwid – A Polish Poet of Today” and recitations of new English-language translations of Norwid's poetry by Prof. Richard Sokoloski, Director of the Slavic Research Group
- showcase ‘VadeMecum’ a new short by The Quay Brothers produced by the Polish Institute in London and the Polish Book Institute
- listen to performance of Fryderyk Chopin’s compositions by Ms. Jenna Richards (Ottawa Chamberfest)
- inaugurate the poster exhibition “Poetry and goodness. Norwid – A Versatile Genius”, prepared by The Adam Mickiewicz Museum of Literature in Warsaw, Poland
