The 100th anniversary of the Battle of Warsaw and Polish Armed Forces Day celebration in Ottawa

On August 15th, 2020 the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Warsaw and Polish Armed Forces Day celebration took place at the premises of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Ottawa.
The celebration was attended by Brig.-Gen. (ret.) Robert Williams of the Canandian Armed Forces, presidents of Polish organizations in Canada: the Canadian-Polish Congress Ottawa Region, the Polish Combatants' Association in Canada (Head Executive Board and Branch no. 8 in Ottawa), Association of Polish Engineers in Canada and members of the Polish-Canadian community.
Brig.-Gen. (ret.) Robert Williams was awarded with the Gold Polish Army Medal for his contribution to promote the history and traditions of the Polish Army outside of Poland.
During the celebration guests had a chance to view a special exhibit entitled “1920-2020. The Battle of Warsaw. Polish victory for the freedom of Europe”, a project of the Ministry of National Defense of Poland, portraying the crucial moments of the Polish-Bolshevik War with an emphasis on the Battle of Warsaw also known as the Miracle on the Vistula River.
