Premier screening of the documentary: Saving the World Entire - Rescuers During the Holocaust

On 17 January at the Dom Polski SPK in Ottawa, the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Ottawa, in cooperation with the Embassy of Israel in Canada, SPK Canada, March of the Living Canada, and JFO: Jewish Federation of Ottawa organized a premier screening of the documentary “Saving the World Entire: Rescuers During the Holocaust” by filmmaker and director Naomi Wise. Before the screening Ambassador Witold Dzielski, Ambassador רונן הופמן - Ronen Hoffman, Jozef Semrau - Polish Combatants’ Association in Canada, Branch No. 8. Ottawa vice-president, and Dr. Karen Palayew, Vice Chair of the Board of the Jewish Federation of Ottawa and past Chair of Ottawa March of the Living Committee had their speeches.
“We gather today to watch the documentary “Saving the World Entire: Rescuers During the Holocaust”, a powerful testament to the courage of four Polish rescuers, awarded Righteous Among the Nations titles, who risked their lives to save Jews during the Holocaust.” - said Ambassador Witold Dzielski during his speech.
Almost one hundred people gathered at the Dom Polski SPK - all of them had the privilege to listen to the panel conversation between Ms. Eva Kuper Holocaust Survivor, and the director of the documentary Naomi Wise, moderated by young representatives of Polish and Jewish communities in Canada - Justyna Korczynski and Joshua Freedman. The topics of the discussion: Memory of the Holocaust and young generations; importance of keeping the history alive; documentary-making; 2023 Auschwitz-Birkenau Remembrance Project.
