Poland’s Embassy was one of sixteen European Union embassies in Canada taking part in the project carried out in cooperation with the EU delegation in Ottawa and EUNIC Ottawa. The Embassy of Georgia also took part to the event as a guest. There were many foreign languages enthusiasts, both adolescents and adults. Polish booth visitors could find out information about tourists attractions of our country, the possibilities of studying in Poland, including Canada-Poland Youth Mobility Program as well as enjoy delicious Polish sweets.

Those interested could also take part in a Polish language lesson for beginners led by Jolanta Kania and Magdalena Bronowska. The lesson was very popular and the participants unanimously agreed that "Polish is great"!

European Day of Languages has been celebrated since 2001. Its aim is to promote linguistic diversity in Europe and foreign languages learning. There are many events organized all over the world at the end of September, which encourage people to learn new languages. The organizers of various projects emphasize that learning foreign languages helps not only in relations between people, but also contributes to breaking down many barriers.
