Visit of Minister of National Defence in Strasbourg

On January 24-25, 2021, Minister of National Defense Mariusz Błaszczak paid an official visit to Strasbourg.
The main purpose of the minister's visit was to participate in the ceremony of welcoming Poland as the sixth participating member country in the Eurocorps. Currently, the Polish contingent in the Eurocorps consists of over 60 soldiers. Soon, Polish soldiers will take several command positions at the Headquarters, and in the years 2023-2025 the Polish general will act as the commander of EUROCORPS.
During the visit, Minister Błaszczak visited the premises of the Permanent Representation of Poland to the Council of Europe, where he met with representatives of the Polish community abroad and awarded Mr. Jakub Wiącek with the silver medal of the Polish Army. Mr Jakub Wiącek is a long-time collaborator of the Montormel Memorial and a great promoter of knowledge about General Stanisław Maczek and the 1st Polish Armoured Division.
