Commemoration of March 1968 events
08.03.2021
On the anniversary of the March 1968 events in Poland chargé d'affaires a.i. Mateusz Mońko and the Consul of the Republic of Poland Małgorzata Dąbecka on 8 March 2021 laid flowers at the memorial plaque commemorating the arrival of the Poles of Jewish descent to Denmark.
The plaque is located where the hotel-ship St. Lawrence was moored, the first home in Denmark for more than 2000 Polish Jews who arrived in 1969-1971 as a result of an anti-Semitic campaign by the authorities of the then communist-ruled Poland.
