24.03.2022
On the occasion of the National Day of Remembrance for Poles Saving Jews under German Occupation, the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Copenhagen commemorated Polish heroes of World War II who risked their lives to help those in need.
As part of the commemoration, the documentary film "Polmission. Passports' Secrets" about the actions of Polish diplomats from the "Ładoś Group" during World War II was shown.
The film tells a story of Polish diplomats in Bern, who saved 3,000 Jews from extermination by issuing forged passports of Latin American countries.
During the meeting, participants watched an etude entitled "All hands on deck", presenting Poland's aid and solidarity efforts for Ukraine, as well as a presentation entitled "Solidarity Among Nations".
An additional element of the meeting was an artistic installation in the colours of Ukraine's flag. The installation was prepared within the framework of the initiative "Protective Theories" by the Ukrainian artist Darya Koltsova.
The screening was attended by members of the Polish community and students from the University of Copenhagen.
