10.08.2021
On 9-10 August 2021, the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Copenhagen hosted a group of Polish experts interested in the Danish biogas market and regulations. As part of the two-day visit, meetings were held in i.a. Danish Energy Agency, State of Green and a visit to the Natur Energy biogas plant.
The Polish delegation had the opportunity to learn about the Danish support system for biogas, including biomethane, and the history of market development. The Danish side shared their experience in the development of production capacity and the adaptation of "green gas" in the transmission system. During the visit to Funen, the delegation visited the Nature Energy Midtfyn biogas plant, one of the largest plants of this type in Denmark, as well as the Nature Energy laboratory, where work is being carried out on biogas purification, increasing efficiency and reducing production costs.
Biogas is an important element of the energy transformation both in Poland and in Denmark, it combines the potential of the energy sector and the agricultural sector. Its use is associated with the need to introduce appropriate regulations aimed at developing circular economy, which is one of the priorities of the European Union.
