The screening of "Kill it and leave this town" at the East by Southeast Film Festival

The feature animation "Kill it and leave this town" by Mariusz Wilczyński was screened in Cinemateket as part of the 10th edition of the East by Southeast Film Festival in Copenhagen.
On 2 November Danish audience, including a large group of cinema enthusiasts and those interested in the Polish culture, watched "Kill it and leave this town", animated psychological horror film directed by Mariusz Wilczyński. The film took fourteen years of work to be completed. The plot of the animation focuses on the director's childhood and youth, with the communist reality in his home town, Łódź as a background. Famous Polish stars provided their voices, including Andrzej Wajda, Krystyna Janda and Gustaw Holoubek. The film premiered at the 70th Berlin International Film Festival in 2020 and since then received several accolades.
The introduction to the screening was conducted by Mr. Jarosław Galuba, the public and cultural diplomacy officer at the Polish Embassy.
The East by Southeast Film Festival shows interesting and thought-provoking movies depicting the social and cultural situation from the CEE region. The Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Copenhagen is a partner of the East by Southeast festival, organized by the Danish Film Institute.
