A delegation of Pomeranian region in Cairo

On August 18th – 22nd, Cairo will host the 43rd World Scout Conference, held under the patronage of President Abdelfattah al-Sisi. A large delegation from Poland is taking part in the conference, including, in addition to the leadership of the Polish Scouting Association, Patryk Gabriel, Member of the Polish Parliament; Beata Rutkiewicz, Pomeranian Voivode; Aleksandra Dulkiewicz, Mayor of Gdańsk and Michał Braun, Director of the National Institute of Freedom, as well as representatives of the regional government and self-government administration from Pomerania. In 2027 Gdańsk will host the World Scout Jamboree (WSJ), which will be attended by 50,000 scouts from all over the world. Prime Minister Donald Tusk has assumed the chairmanship of the Honorary Committee of the Jamboree.
On 19.08, a coordination meeting of the entire Polish delegation was held at the Polish Embassy. It was an opportunity to discuss the state of preparations for the Jamboree and subsequent activities. On August 20, during the plenary session, Gdańsk was presented as the host of the WSJ.
