We regret to inform you that Mr. Miroslaw Pienkowski passed away on July 10, 2023. He was a tireless promoter of Fryderyk Chopin's work around the world, a generous patron of young pianist talents and their teachers, co-founder in 1997 and until 2018 General Sponsor of the International Chopin Piano Competition for Young Pianists in Narva, recipient of ministerial decorations - the Medal for Merit to Culture "Gloria Artis" and the Badge of Honor "Bene Merito", as well as Polish and Estonian state decorations for instilling and promoting what is most valuable in Polish culture in Estonian territory and nurturing Polish heritage on the international arena.

Employees of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland express their deepest condolences to the family and loved ones.

Opus Magnum - International Chopin Competition and the bust of Fryderyk Chopin by Karol Badyna, funded by Mirosław and Halina Pieńkowski for the Music School in Narva, remain a lasting and living trace of many hard-working years, involvement of forces, means and heart of Mirosław Pieńkowski in Estonia.
