Jarosław Gowin
Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Development, Labour and Technology
He is responsible for the country’s economic policy, including entrepreneurship, industrial policy, innovation and technology, digital transformation, green economy and economic relations with foreign countries. His duties also cover issues related to labour relations and the prevention of unemployment, as well as construction, planning and spatial development, housing and tourism.
Jarosław Gowin was the Minister of Justice in the period of 2011-2013, and in 2015-2020, as the Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Science and Higher Education, he introduced the Constitution for Science and some groundbreaking changes in the education of doctoral students, as well as two acts on innovation, stimulating R&D activities. He established the National Agency for Academic Exchange and the Łukasiewicz Research Network.
A scholarship holder of the University of Cambridge; the founder of Tischner European University in Kraków in 2003 and its rector until 2013.
A senator of the sixth term; a member of the Science and Education Committee, and of the Local Government and Public Administration Committee; since 2007 a Member of the Polish Parliament.
An author of many books, journalistic articles and reviews.
