If you live in Poland - register for permanent or temporary residence (i.e. over 3 months).

You do not have to register if you know that your stay in Poland will not exceed 30 days - for example, if you spend your holiday in Poland.

Informacje:

You can now register without the involvement of an official. You can also register your child if your PESEL number is entered next to its data.

If you want to submit the form online, you need a trusted profile or a qualified electronic signature certificate. Check how to set up a trusted profile. If you are a Polish citizen and you are registering on behalf of a foreigner - you can also use a personal signature certificate (it is available in the electronic ID card of a person who has indicated that he/she wants to hold a personal signature certificate in the application for the electronic ID card).

Register

  • To register without the involvement of an official, it is required to:

    • be the owner of the premises where an individual is registering or have another legal title to the premises, and
    • appear in the land and mortgage register of the premises concerned.

You can also register your minor child without the involvement of an official if your PESEL number is entered next to its data in the PESEL register. If the land and mortgage register contains your or your child's data and the address of the premises is correct, the system will register the child automatically.

  • You can register in person or by a proxy.

If you want a proxy to register you online, you should grant an electronic power of attorney and sign it electronically.

You can also send the power of attorney to the office in another way – use a general letter.

A parent, a legal guardian or a de facto guardian who exercises joint custody may register a person who:

    • has no legal capacity (fully incapacitated persons, children aged under 13),
    • has a limited legal capacity (partially incapacitated persons, children aged between 13 and 18).
    • trusted profile login data and a mobile phone. If you are a Polish citizen and you are registering on behalf of a foreigner - you can use the electronic ID card if it contains a personal signature certificate (it is contained in the electronic ID card of a person who has indicated that he/she wants to hold a personal signature certificate in the application for the electronic ID card);
    • if you are the owner or have another legal title to the premises where you want to register - the number of the land and mortgage of such premises. If the details are not compliant with the data contained in the land and mortgage register, you will see a message that you cannot use automatic registration and your application will be sent to the office. In such a case, attach ONE of the electronic documents confirming that you hold a legal title to the premises, for example:
    • if you are NOT the owner and have no other legal title to premises where you want to register - attach an electronic document:
      • a statement of the landlord or other entity that holds the legal title to the premises and confirms your residency,
      • a document that proves the legal title to the premises of the owner or another entity.

If you do not have the documents in electronic form, attach their digital reproductions, such as scans.

If you are registering another person, you must additionally present:

    • a document which proves that you have the authority to act on their behalf (e.g. a power of attorney, a court order appointing a guardian, a declaration that you care for a minor or a disabled person and that you share the same place of residence).

If you are a family member of a citizen of the EU or EFTA Member State - you must show a confirmation document at the office (for example, a valid permanent residence card for a family member of the EU citizen or a valid residence card for a family member of the EU citizen).

If you have problems related to obtaining the title title or the statement from your landlord (or scans thereof), you can still send the application. For details, please refer to the section: Problems related to registration - what to do.

If the system registers you automatically, the certificate is free of charge and you will receive it to your Gov inbox (ePUAP).
