1st Annual Meeting of the Polish Archaeological Institute at Athens

The first PAIA reporting conference took place on May 19, at the seat of the Polish Embassy in Athens.

The Polish Archaeological Institute at Athens was officially opened in October 2021, and the 1st Annual Meeting took place in the frame of Polish Heritage Days events. Ambassador Artur Lompart welcomed our guests. The meeting was moderated by the Chairman of the PIAA Academic Board, Professor Kazimierz Lewartowski, who introduced subsequent speakers summarizing the first months of PAIA's activity and the achievements of Polish archaeologists involved in the study of Greek civilization from the nineteenth century. The program of the meeting contained the following presentations:

1. Professor Janusz Czebreszuk, PAIA Director, Report on PAIA's activities in 2021,

2. Professor Ewdoksia Papuci-Władyka, Deputy Director of PAIA, Archeology of Greece in Polish Research until 1989,

3. Ass. Professor Bartłomiej Lis, Member of the Governance Council of PAIA, Polish Research on the Prehistory of Aegean after 1989,

4. Professor Ewdoksia Papuci-Władyka, Deputy Director of PAIA, Polish Classical Research of Hellenic Civilization after 1989.
