Poland at the International Shipping Exhibition "Posidonia" 2024

Poland took an active part in the International Shipping Exhibition "Posidonia" in Athens, which takes place every two years and is one of the largest maritime industry fairs in the world. This year's edition of the "Posidonia" exhibition took place on June 3-7, 2024, and was attended by almost two thousand companies from 103 countries.

The Polish Pavilion organized by the Ministry of Infrastructure was one of 23 national pavilions, where the following companies presented their offer: Port of Gdynia, Port of Gdańsk, Port of Szczecin-Świnoujście, Nauta Ship Repair Yard, Gryfia Ship Repair Yard, Polish Register of Shipping, Bota Technik, Polish Steamship Company, Polish Maritime Technology Forum, FAMOR, JPP Marine, Phoenix, HG Solution. Poland was represented by a total of 29 exhibitors. Apart from the companies concentrated in the Polish Pavilion, there were also: Shipyard "Remontowa", Remontowa Lighting Technologies, Axpro Concept/Kowary Carpets, Baltic Spares Servive Sp. z o.o., H. Cegielski - Poznań S.A., ENAMOR, Forankra POL Sp. z o.o., Gospodarka Morska Sp. z o.o., LUMEL S.A., MAEM, MARCONTREL, NET MARINE Group Ltd., NIKOR Ltd. LP, Olimpic Group, PROTEKT, SIMEX Sp. z o.o., STR Marine and WSK - International Sp. z o.o. The “Posidonia’ exhibition was attended by an official delegation from the Ministry of Infrastructure led by Secretary of State Arkadiusz Marchewka and a delegation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs led by Undersecretary of State Jakub Wiśniewski. A representative of the Ministry of Development and Technology also attended the event. The Polish delegation participated in the inauguration of the fair, with the Greek Prime Minister K. Mitsotakis, and the Polish Pavilion was officially opened by the representatives of the Polish government, Minister A. Marchewka and Minister J. Wiśniewski in the presence of the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland, Artur Lompart. Minister A. Marchewka emphasized that at the “Posidonia” fair: "we show our potential, we build our brand as professionals dealing with the maritime industry". In turn, Minister J. Wiśniewski emphasized that "we will help Polish companies invest abroad, contact the authorities of the host countries, we will help solve problems so that Polish business can be the best ambassador of Poland in the world".

In order to maintain the dynamics of the dialogue initiated in recent years and the cyclical nature of promotional activities of the Polish maritime sector in Greece, the Polish Embassy in Athens organized a seminar entitled "Poland – thinking out of the box about maritime industry".  Opening speeches were given by J. Wiśniewski and A. Marchewka, and Polish exhibitors presented their companies. Poland's presence at the fair was also promoted during the accompanying events: “Posidonia Cup” regatta and “Posidonia Running” race.
