Poland in Greece

This year's edition of FRESKON was devoted to apples. The Polish pavilion was created as a result of cooperation between the Embassy and the National Center for Agricultural Support. The Association of Polish Fruit and Vegetable Distributors "Unia Owocowa" was also involved in its organization. The Polish pavilion was adjacent to the stand of the Greek-Polish Chamber of Investments and Trade, which was also used by the Foreign Trade Office in Athens. The International Fruit and Vegetable Congress was held during the fair, the guest of honor was the Secretary General of the Association of Polish Fruit and Vegetable Distributors "Unia Owocowa", Mrs. Paulina Kopeć.

Ambassador Artur Lompart visited the Polish pavilion and met with the exhibitors. He also took part in the International Fruit Congress, during which the leading role of Poland in the global production and export of apples was highlighted, global trends in apple marketing and challenges for the fruit industry were discussed.

The purpose of our presence at the FRESKON fair was to promote Polish apples on the Greek market and, as a result, encourage local fruit importers and distributors to import them. Visitors of our stand, including Greek ministers of Agriculture G. Georgantas and Macedonia and Trace S. Kalafatis,    had the opportunity to learn about Polish cuisine and cooking recipes based on apples, and taste fresh apples from Grójec region.
