Polish Film awarded at the Olympia International Film Festival

Piotr Domalewski's Polish teen film "I Never Cry", a bittersweet drama that explores the intricacies of family relationships depicting the bleak landscape of present Europe, won the Best Picture Award of the 24th Olympia International Film Festival for Children and Youth.

Seventeen-year-old Ola must travel to Ireland to bring her father’s body back to Poland after he died working on a construction site. But never mind her dad, Ola wants to know if he saved money for the car he had promised. Dealing with foreign bureaucracy in her own street-smart way, Ola learns that her biggest dream wasn’t a car, but getting to know her dad.

The protagonist Zofia Stafiej won the award for best child performance of the Olympia Festival, while the film also won the awards of the Panhellenic Association of Film Critics and the Federation of Film Clubs of Greece.
