The Thessaloniki International Film Festival invites viewers and filmmakers to watch the most interesting films from around the world, this year from 3 to 13 November. The films are screened both online and in Thessaloniki's cinemas. As every year, there will be present also Polish productions, two Polish new films will be screened.

„Other people”, dir. Aleksandra Terpinska, screenings: 6/11, 14:00 hrs, Frida Liappa theatre & 7/11, 22:00 hrs, Pavlos Zannas theatre.

An urban drama about Kamil, a wannabe-rapper who should be getting his life and career going but instead gets high, roams around the city and starts an affair with a bored, rich housewife Iwona. It’s a polyphonic story about isolated people dreaming of love in the big city, a fresh, funky, and dark tale of modern society existing in the shadow of capitalism, where other people – neighbours, commuters, and passersby, become a modern incarnation of a Greek chorus, voicing the inner anger and frustration of the protagonists.

“Fools”, dir. Tomasz Wasilewski, screenings: 8/11, 19:00 hrs, Pavlos Zannas theatre & 10/11, 14:00 hrs, Makedonikon theatre.

Marlena (62) and Tomasz (42), hidden away from the world in a small seaside town, have been in a happy relationship for many years. Their intricately woven everyday life slowly begins to crumble when, against Tomasz’s will, Marlena allows her son to move in with them. As the past comes back to them in full force they will have to redefine their love, choices and life.

The Polish movies screenings are organized in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Poland.
