Stanisław Moniuszko's opera "The Haunted Manor" in Athens

Polish opera "The Haunted Manor", composed by Stanisław Moniuszko, will be presented in Athens at the Mediterranean Festival of the Municipality of Kallithea, on Saturday September 10th, at 20:30.
The masterpiece is characterized by romantic and comedic features and at the same time by a strong patriotic flavor. The opera was written after the fall of the January Uprising in 1864. It is considered to be the best opera by Moniuszko and the best Polish masterpiece of this type from the 19th century.
The Avangart Foundation is the organizer and producer of the opera. It has its own symphony orchestra and chamber bands. It cooperates with opera stars from around the world (Poland, Italy, Spain, Georgia, Russia, Albania & Brazil). The Foundation can boast of opera productions staged in non -theater space using architectural and natural objects. In Kallithea the performance will take place at the Culture and Youth Area, Mantzagriotaki and Esperidon str.
The event is supported by the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Athens.
