A visit of Polish parliamentarians and local government officials

A delegation of Polish parliamentarians and local government officials from the Podlaskie Voivodeship visited Athens for several days. They participated in ceremonies related to the cult of Our Lady of the Gate of Dawn in Greece and held a series of meetings and talks with representatives of the Greek authorities.
The Hagia Marina Foundation was the initiator of the arrival of a large Polish delegation, and this year's celebrations were held under the patronage of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland, Zbigniew Rau. The head of the Polish delegation was MP D. Milewski, Chairman of the Polish-Greek Parliamentary Group.
The visit program included:
• meeting of the Polish-Greek Parliamentary Group and the Greek-Polish Friendship Group in the Hellenic Parliament;
• meeting with the Minister of Tourism, Harris Theocharis, concerning the development of tourism between our countries, including religious tourism from Poland, and joint projects concerning the health safety of tourists;
• meeting with the Mayor of Athens, K. Bakoyannis, concerning, inter alia, giving the name of Jerzy Iwanow - Szajnowicz to one of the streets of Athens and cooperation between Athens and Warsaw;
• meeting with the Governor of the Attica Region, G. Patoulis, on joint projects of Podlasie and the Attica region in the field of environmental protection,
• participation in the celebrations in honor of the Gate of Dawn Icon of the Mother of God in the parish of St. Marina in the Ilioupoli district.
The delegation also visited the international defense industry fair "DEFEA 2021", which was ongoing at that time, where the Polish company WB Group was present among the exhibitors and met with representatives of the Polish community in Greece.
