UN Internet Governance Forum - IGF 2021 - decisive phase
29.09.2021
Preparations for the UN Internet Governance Forum - IGF 2021 in Poland are entering a decisive phase. We invite everyone to participate in the ongoing consultations, which will ultimately decide the shape and scope of the talks in Katowice.
In just over two months, Poland will host the UN Internet Governance Forum - IGF 2021. From 6 to 10 December in Katowice, the most important decisions related to digital transformation will be made.
Take part in the last consultation before IGF 2021
The Third Open Consultation and Multistakeholder Advisory Group (MAG) meeting has just begun. Experts from around the world will decide on the final layout and scope of the sessions and other activities.
This is a unique opportunity to observe their work and take part in the debate. The meeting is open to anyone.
The open consultation and MAG meeting will last for a total of 3 days (29 September - 1 October). This is when the final shape and scope of the entire Internet Governance Forum programme will be decided. For Poland, as the host country of IGF 2021, the agenda of the so-called Day Zero (6 December) is particularly important. We also want the widest possible participation of the young generation, for whom the Youth Summit will be held.
MAG is a United Nations Multilateral Advisory Group (MAG) that brings together representatives of governments, the private sector, science and technology organisations and civil society. Poland is represented by Krzysztof Szubert - High Representative of the Prime Minister for European Digital Policy and Republic of Poland Plenipotentiary for UN IGF 2021, as MAG Co-Chairperson on behalf of the IGF host country.
- We are intensively promoting the UN IGF 2021 at major events in Poland and abroad. We are committed to the broadest possible participation of people from all over the world, especially on-site, during the December IGF 2021, said Krzysztof Szubert during the inauguration of the hybrid open consultation and MAG meeting.
The agenda for the entire IGF 2021 is now being finalised. The decisive vote belongs to the MAG, but anyone can take part in the consultation. Just register on the IGF Secretariat website. Register here.
