Partial resumption of the consular services

Due to the enduring global COVID-19 pandemic and special arrangements introduced by the Government of the Republic of Poland regarding international travel the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Erbil will on September 21st, 2020 resume the processing of visa and other applications from a limited number of customers. All matters regarding the citizens of the Republic of Poland are being processed continuously upon an e-mail or telephone notification. Below please find more detailed information pertaining to the typical services rendered by the Consulate General of Poland in Erbil.

  1. Visas

Despite the fact that the borders of the Republic of Poland have been opened for international travel many restriction still apply. Please refer to the information regarding foreigners entitled to enter the Republic of Poland provided at the following webpage:

Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Erbil will resume the operation of the e-consulate system on September 21st, 2020. Customers will be able to register for visits in order to apply for both national and Schengen visas. Please read very closely the information on the above mentioned webpage regarding the types of travelers who are entitled to enter the Republic of Poland as applications of persons who do not match the definitions therein will not be processed.

Standard visa processing time of 15 days from the date of application will be extended by 3 days’ period necessary for documents’ quarantine.

  1. Legal matters

In order to set an appointment at the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland for the submission of documents (e.g. legalization) please write to us at: erbilconsulate@msz.gov.pl or call us at: +964 750 163 7236 (during working hours of the Consulate).

Due to the requirement of a 3-day document quarantine it is currently impossible to process any of the applications in fast-track mode (one day).

ATTENTION: Prior to submitting any documents for legalization please ensure that they bear the appropriate stamps and signs of legalization offices authorized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq.

ATTENTION: The Consulate General of the Republic of Poland does not render translation services at present. Translated documents may be submitted to the Consulate for verification and attestation.

Passport applications are being processed continuously. ATTENTION: Due to the risk of SARS CoV-2 transmission any persons visiting the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Erbil are required to wear protective masks (covering their mouth and nose). Persons without masks will not be allowed to enter the premises of the Consulate. Moreover the disinfection of hands with the use of disinfectants provided by the Consulate is mandatory. Security personnel of the mission will also check the body temperature of the visitors. Persons whose body temperature exceeds 38 degrees Celsius will not be allowed to enter the premises. Please observe the instructions provided by the security personnel of the mission.

ATTENTION: The visitors are requested to observe their exact hourly time of the registered visit at the Consulate and to attend punctually. Due to the epidemic the number of the persons in the waiting room is limited to minimum. Persons who fail to show up on time may be processed after all other guests have concluded their visits.
Visitors are kindly requested to show up at the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland without any accompanying persons. The exceptions to the above rules are: persons with disabilities who require assistance and minors with their legal guardians.

ATTENTION: All documents must be delivered to the Consulate in disposable plastic envelopes.
