Celebration of Poland's Day of Independence in Dublin

On 11 November the Polish Embassy in Dublin held a reception to commemorate the Day of Independence.

The event was very well attended by the Diplomatic Corps, as well as by the Polish community in Ireland, prepresentatives of the Irish administration, Irish partners of the Embassy etc. 

The event was opened by joint singing of the Polish national anthem and the Irish national anthem.

During the official part of the evening, the Ambassador of Poland to Ireland, Ms. Anna Sochańska presented a Golden Cross of Merit to Ms. Marta Szutkowska-Kiszkiel awarded to her by the President of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Duda for her active role in initiatiing and developing Polish educational institutions in Ireland, such as the Polish Educational Society in Ireland.

During the event a group of students from the Fermata Polish School of Music in Dublin presented a mini-recital of Polish patriotic songs.
