Celebrations of Kazimierz (Casimir) Markievicz
20.03.2024
In March we celebrated the 150th anniversary of the birth of Casimir Markiewicz, Polish prolific artist and husband to Constance, legendary Irish revolutionary.
On this occasion historian Patrick Quigley delivered an inspiring lecture celebrating Casimir's anniversary at an event organised in partnership with the National Library of Ireland.
A selection of photographs, documents and other artefacts were on display during the event from the collections of the National Library of Ireland and the National Museum of Ireland.
Watch this video to find out how Casimir and his Polish family awoke patriotic calling in his wife Constance.
