"Chopin and Beyond" - a concert inaugurating Polish Presidency of the Council of the EU

The Embassy in partnership with the Royal Irish Academy of Music (RIAM) and the Academy of Music in Łódź (Poland) organised a celebratory concert „Chopin & Beyond” on the 16th January to mark the commencement of Polish Presidency of the Council of the EU.
The concert was performed by a selected group of students from both music academies who performed music by F. Chopin as well as by later composers inspired by Chopin.
On this special occasion we were honoured to be joined by distinguished guests – among them former President of Ireland Madame President Mary McAleese with her husband Martin, cllr Patrick Kinsella representing the Lord Mayor of Dublin, members of the diplomatic corps in Ireland, as well as representatives from the world of the arts and academia.
The musical feast was followed by a feast for the body - our guests had a chance to try famous Polish fudge (krówki) and a great selection of Polish wines.
