A Polish military transport in the form of 711 sets of parachutes has arrived in Jordan for the purposes of carrying out humanitarian airdrops for the people of the Gaza Strip. The value of the aid donated by Poland totals 871,350 PLN and comes directly from the resources of the Polish Armed Forces. Poland appreciates and supports Jordan's efforts to provide humanitarian aid and protection for civilians in the Gaza Strip. In April, the Polish authorities positively responded to a Jordanian request to provide aerial parachutes needed to carry out airdrops of food, medical supplies and other humanitarian aid items to the conflict-affected enclave. The provision and transport of the parachutes were provided by the Polish Ministry of Defense.

At the same time, in light of the dramatic humanitarian and food situation of the civilian population in the Gaza Strip and the very difficult conditions for the delivery of aid, the Polish government decided to donate 2 million USD to UN agencies, including UNRWA and WFP. The contribution to the UNRWA budget continues Poland's existing commitment to Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, as well as in Jordan, Lebanon and Syria.

WFP is also an important humanitarian aid partner of Poland. The organization donates food to more than 1.5 million people in the Gaza Strip every month. The Polish financial contribution is in line with the WFP's announced requirement of 760 million USD to run a humanitarian operation in the Gaza Strip until the end of 2024.

Ambassador Lucjan Karpiński and Defense Attaché col Adam Tonderys with Embassy’s team attended the handover of Polish aid at Marka military airport near Amman.
