Changes in functioning of the Consular Section: reduced hours of operation, no new visa applications

16.03.2020

In view of the spread of coronavirus and closing of Polish borders, the Embassy of Poland in Nairobi has decided to introduce some changes in functioning of its Consular Section.

Coronavirus

Poland has declared a state of epidemic emergency and temporarily closed its borders starting from Sunday, March 15, 2020 (for 10 days, with possibility of extension).

A ban on entry to Poland for foreigners has been introduced (exempted: spouses and children of Polish citizens, holders of Karta Polaka, diplomats and persons with the right of permanent or temporary residence in the Republic of Poland or holders of a valid work permit). Poland has also suspended international flights and train connections.

Following the above-mentioned decision of the Polish authorities and due to the recent COVID-19 situation, the Embassy of the Republic of Poland has decided to introduce changes in the hours of operation of its consular section. The new hours of operation are as follows:

  • March 16-19, 2020, from 9:30 to 14:00
  • March 24-26, 2020, from 10:00 to 12:00.

We are also limiting the visa visits. Until further notice, only the applications in urgent cases and appeals will be accepted and proceeded. The visa visits booked until March 26, 2020 will take place as registered.

Until further notice, for booking the visit at the Consular Section please write an e-mail to: nairobi.amb.wk@msz.gov.pl.
