For the first time, a delegation of Kenyan local authorities, supported by local business, will be hosted in Poland.

On 10th of August the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Nairobi hosted representatives of the delegation of the Kenyan local authorities of the Kajiado county, supported by the largest local agricultural producers. The delegation is going to Poland to establish cooperation with Polish entities operating in the potato industry and to purchase Polish equipment and production technologies that can be widely used in Kenya.
On August 17-27, a delegation of the Kajiado County authorities together with local farmers will attend the Polish Potato Poland Fair in Marianów 2023. The fair is organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Plant Breeding and Acclimatization Institute and the Polish Potato Federation. It will be the first ever visit to Poland by a delegation of Kenyan local authorities and local business. The county authorities are interested in the development of the potato industry as a leading agricultural and food industry in the region. They are interested in extensive cooperation with Polish potato farms based on Polish experience. Field demonstrations of machines, transport lines, sorting and loading devices are planned. The achievements of Polish experimental companies dealing with the protection and fertilization of potatoes, as well as Polish processing, including the production of starch and other products from potato crops, will also be presented.
The mission was organized by the Kenyan branch of Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH), with the full support of the Polish Embassy in Nairobi. During the conversation with Ambassador Mirosław Gojdź, the possibilities and prospects for joint activities were discussed. After the Polish Potato Fair there will be a meetinhg hosted by the Kajiado County authorities to discuss the results of the mission to Poland.
