OECD mission to Kenya

On May 13-15, a joint mission to Kenya of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland took place, as part of a project financed by Poland.
The Polish delegation included representatives of the Department of Economic Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including Deputy Director Paweł Gębski, the University of Life Sciences in Poznań and the private sector. The OECD delegation was led by Director of Global Relations and Cooperation, Andreas Schaal.
On the first day of the mission, a seminar “Promoting investment for green transition in the agrifood sector in Kenya” was held, in which representatives of Kenyan institutions, including the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry, also participated.
On May 14, delegates from Poland and representatives of the Embassy of Poland and PAIH made a number of field visits to farms and dairy cooperatives in Kiambu County. The talks included a cooperation in the areas of modernization of the dairy sector and energy (biogas plants).
The mission ended with a meeting of ambassadors from OECD member states and international organizations based in Nairobi, organized by Poland and Sweden at the residence of the Swedish ambassador. The participants discussed about the prospects for OECD cooperation with Kenya and the role this organization for the development of Africa.
