Polish Aid Small Grants Programme 2021 - results of the call for applications

The Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Nairobi is pleased to share the results of the 2021 call for applications under the Polish Aid Small Grants Programme. Six projects, amounting to 134 000 euros in total, were selected among 150 applications received.

After careful review and consideration of all applications submitted in the 2021 intake, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland has decided to select the following projects for financing: 

 

In Kenya:

  • Rehabilitation of Fire Bridge Stations in Tharaka Nithi and Nandi Counties, submitted by the Chief Fire Officers Association, Kenya (CFOA-K), with the amount of 23 950 euros;
  • Creation of a sustainable environment for rehabilitation of women and children – victims of human trafficking – through green energy and access to ICT, submitted by HAART (Awareness Against Human Trafficking), with the amount of 16 000 euros;
  • Video conference centre to facilitate cancer patient care in Kenya and East Africa, submitted by Faraja Cancer Support Trust, with the amount of 16 050 euros;
  • Purchase of musical instruments and accessories for the Ghetto Classics Programme supporting musically talented youth from Nairobi and Mombasa informal settlements, submitted by The Art of Music Foundation, with the amount of 24 000 euros;
     

In Uganda: 

  • Upgrading of Nyabyeya Health Centre II to Health Centre III, submitted by the Polish Development Organization Uganda (PODEOU), with the amount of 27 000 euros;

 

In Madagascar:

  • Social support project for food self-sufficiency of vulnerable families victim of the drought in Southern Madagascar, submitted by Salesians of don Bosco Madagascar, with the amount of 27 000 euros;

 

The above-mentioned organizations which have received funding will be contacted individually, by mid-July at the latest, for further information.
