On February 14, 2024, the wife of the Vice-President of the Republic of Kenya, the Second Lady, H.E. Dr. Dorkas Wanjiru Rigathi, paid an official visit to the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Nairobi. .

The position of Second Lady in Kenya is an official position with the title of Excellency, located within the office held in the Vice President's office. Her Excellency the Pastor, Dr. Dorcas Rigathi, embodies a compelling story of resilience, compassion and sacrifice, combining her roles as the wife of the Vice President of the Republic of Kenya, His Excellency Rigathi Gachagua, and at the same time an advocate for the vulnerable in society. She was born in 1965 in the village of Ndunyu ya Chege in Muranga County. She grew up in the Kiandutu slums in Thika. Despite living in extreme poverty, she showed exceptional academic abilities.

Currently, her work focuses on supporting the poor and ensuring a dignified future for vulnerable groups of society. Through the Office, the Second Lady is also committed to creating an equitable future and restoring socio-economic participation for widows, orphans and people with disabilities in Kenya through equal access to resources, skills and opportunities. She is the founder of the Dorcas Rigathi Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to having a transformative impact on the lives of individuals, families and communities. The foundation operates with the vision of inspiring hope, empowering people and creating positive changes in various areas of life.

It was the first official visit of a representative of the Kenyan administration at the presidential level to the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Nairobi. During the meeting, issues of strengthening Polish-Kenyan cooperation were discussed, including in the field of university cooperation and development assistance.
