On March 10, 2022, a memorial plaque was unveiled in honor of two architects: Polish, Zbigniew Trzebiński and Hungarian, Tibor Gaal in Diani.
On March 10, 2022, the ceremony of unveiling a commemorative plaque in honor of two architects: Polish, Zbigniew Trzebiński and Hungarian, Tibor Gaal in the Swahili Beach Resort Hotel in Diani, designed by them in the 1970s, one of the most impressive in this part of Kenyan coast. Both architects worked together for many years, designing numerous hotels in Kenya, which are still popular among tourists today, many of which are visited by Poles. The ceremony was also attended, apart from the Ambassadors of Poland and Hungary, by the Ambassadors of Austria (Tibor Gaal was for many years the Honorary Consul of Austria in Kenya) and Slovakia (the Hungarian architect was born in today's Slovakia). The ceremony was honoured by representatives of local authorities, businessmen and representatives of the Polish community.
