Birgit Ditgens PhD.

Dr. Birgit Ditgens is Senior Scientific Officer and Head of Department at the International Bureau (IB) of the Project Management Agency c/o German Aerospace Centre. She holds a degree in chemistry and a PhD in engineering. Through her work at the University of Bonn, several project management agencies and the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, she has more than 25 years of experience in European and international cooperation. Since 2009 she has been working for the project management agency at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and is since 2019 head of the department "Cooperation with European Countries - Bilateral and Regional Cooperation". In her former positions she was responsible for bilateral cooperation with Israel, Turkey and multilateral cooperation with Africa and the Middle East. From 2013 to 2015, she was seconded to the Federal Ministry of Education and Research with the responsibilities for the cooperation with Poland, Israel and Central Eastern and South Eastern Europe.
