Matt is a Serial Entrepreneur/Investor in tech for over 30 years, having built virtual worlds in the 90’s, then the world’s first anti-fraud software for the FBI. As a 20 year mentor founded 3 non-profits devoted to startups. He launched a GOED grant funded to leading tech transfer out of UNLV, with 7 patents released in 3 years He is currently an Owner/Partner in 4 unrelated for-profit companies, and on 4 Board’s. He was founder in 7 early startups with 4 cash Exits, and 3 interesting experiences!  He is the founder of Entrepreneur’s Assembly DBA BizAssembly.og)  – The Award-winning Nevada non-profit -the largest and oldest mentoring organization in Nevada. He has raised over $5M for early stage startups. Granite Landings LLC is the latest vision for Mr. Westfield and his partners, building an internationally renowned group of C-level talent to help solid foreign startups assess and launch operations in the US through Nevada partnerships. He is Entrepreneur-in-Residence for the University of Nevada, Reno since 2011.

 Matt is the lead mentor for international development for the Governors Office of Economic Development in Nevada beginning in 2018. Matt has travelled the world mentoring startups and founders, including to help build the renowned Nevada entrepreneurial pipeline, the E-Minor at the university, and the UNR Entrepreneurs Club.

Matt was voted a Top 10 Reno/Tahoe Community Leader, won the 2014 SBA Entrepreneurial Spirit Award, and is the Mentor of the Year for the entire state of Nevada for the Governor’s Cup competition. His 2014 team, Dragonfly Energy, beat out 144 Grad teams, from 22 universities in 3 states for the overall win and is now a $500M company! Matt is now launching the award-winning programs in Poland and Eastern Europe.
