Torsten Fischer, PhD.

Torsten Fischer

Torsten Fischer is Director of the European Liaison Office of the German Research Organisations (KoWi) since July 2017. After completing his doctorate in 2003 with a dissertation in French on the history of poverty in Kiel, Lyon and Aberdeen, he held various positions at the German Research Foundation (DFG) and European institutions.

From 2009 to 2013, Dr. Fischer was Head of the DFG Office in India and Founding Director of the German House for Research and Innovation in New Delhi. Until June 2017, he was Programme Director for the coordination of international research funding activities at the DFG Office in Bonn.
