Polish Aid implemented recently a development project in Kwahu Tafo in Ghana.
Polish Aid implemented recently a development project in Kwahu Tafo in Ghana. We bought medical equipment for St. Joseph Clinic and Maternity Home, where, among others, sister Dorota Sojka from Poland has been working for over 18 years! The main goal of the project was the purchase and installation of laboratory equipment necessary for the diagnosis of basic laboratory parameters in the Clinic that are used to monitor pregnancy and child’s health after delivery. The second element implemented under the project was the purchase and installation of IT equipment used to operate the electronic patient records system, which facilitated and harmonized the patient service process, which improve effectiveness of the medical facility's operations. Thanks to the implementation of the project under the Polish Aid, St. Joseph Clinic and Maternity Home purchased also professional eye testing equipment, making it the only facility in the Kwahu Tafo region that offers these services as part of its operations. Sisters who are leading St. Joseph Clinic and Maternity Home are currently planning carrying out the project of eye examination among schoolchildren, to be able to diagnose certain defects at an early stage, which will lead to effectiveness of later treatment. Besides sister Dorota, in Kwahu Tafo there are also sisters Ernestina Mortu and Elizabeth Tikayi from Ghana and Sr Leoni Maniar from Indonesia, who has been in Ghana for over 38 years. Thank you for your dedicated work.
